Good or bad, weed or wild flower?

As someone said.... 'a weed is just a plant in the wrong place.' Although I have been pulling out the dandelions and grasses from my flower beds when I found this one I was amazed by its beauty. The symmetry is amazing....don't you think? I stood and admired it for a while...

RGA Summer Exhibition prep

Hi. Today is hand in day for the RGA  summer exhibition. This means lots of cutting, mounting, adding labels, taping, wrapping and organizing forms and paperwork. And I am just doing my own. I take my hat off to all the organizers and exhibition curators who do this for so many. here are the 5 pieces I am putting in the browser. I have also made some cards and am taking 4 paintings. Hope they all get in!
Do come along if you can as it should be a varied exhibition with several interesting workshops.

My art in the gallery

I had a lovely surprise when I discovered my paintings had already been put up on the wall of Art@Goring gallery. They look really happy there!

Red Poppies. these are out in the fields around here...beautiful.
This more abstract one is 'Lavender in the air'. The idea of looking through the curtains to the organic outside, and the smell of lavender.

Kensington Palace part 2 dresses!

I forgot to mention that at Kensington Palace there is a lovely selection of dresses from the collections of HM The Queen, Princess Margaret and Diana, Princess of Wales. Some beautiful pieces.

Alexander Mc Queen

I have just been to the Alexander Mc Queen exhibition at the V&A museum in London. Amazing. He was so creative and inventive. Full of opposites...dark and light...

Kensington Palace gardens

I went to Kensington Palace yesterday for inspiration. Its history is amazing. It was first occupied by William and Mary. I met a wonderful guide who told me some great stories.
Outside in the garden I found more garden and painting inspiration. The gardeners were out planting so I took some pics. So much inspiration!

Weekend walk, Queen Anne's Lace.

This weekend I went for a lovely walk between the showers. Queen Anne's Lace was out everywhere. The roots can been eaten I have heard but it has several poisonous cousins! what do you call this plant? apparently it has several names. Hmm I think this might inspire more white in my paintings.
