The Royal Academy has published this on Diebenkorn's 10 rules to help him paint. Always interesting to see what other artists think.

My little art survey is now completed!
I would like to thank all 128 who took some of their valuable time to complete it.
A first quick glance reveals a lot of interesting information and tips and I will analyze the results in more details the coming weeks.
Best wishes for wonderful holidays to you all.

Roberta

Preparing works on paper for Henley.
Hi. Well I am now in the process of selecting some of my works on paper to be framed for the Henley exhibition in the spring. This may seem ages ahead but believe me a lot of work has to go into an exhibition to make it work and starting with some preparation is never too early.
I thought it might be interesting for people to see some of the works on paper that I do around the time of the bigger paintings. It shows some of my experiments, ideas, compositions and colours used in my work. These pieces often have a joy of their own and work as pieces of art in themselves, as they are created with freedom and spontaneity.
They will also of course be more affordable than the big paintings.

Last of the Leaves
As I was walking along the other day, I notices this bush. The beauty of the composition of the leaves struck me and as I started taking pictures of it I was struck even more by the delicacy and patterns the leaves were making. These are probably the last leaves of 2015. Soon this bush will be empty of leaves and go to 'sleep' for the winter. I want to use this image for the basis of a painting. Dancing leaves, so beautiful.
